Trash

How to restore a workspace, an artifact or a table from the trash, and who can destroy it for good.

Nothing you remove is lost at once. A workspace, an artifact or a table moved to the trash waits there whole, with everything it held, until someone restores it or an owner destroys it for good.

Moving something to the trash

  • A table. Move to trash on its tab's menu. An artifact always keeps at least one table.
  • An artifact. Move to trash on its card's menu, or in its settings.
  • A workspace. Move to trash on its card's menu, or in its settings. Only an owner can do this. The last workspace in an organisation stays, so create another before this one goes.

Each move asks first, by name. A workspace in the trash takes everything and everyone in it along.

Finding the trash

Open your profile menu at the top of the page and choose Trash. The page shows the organisation you are in, in three sections, Workspaces, Artifacts and Tables. Each card says where it stood and when it was trashed.

Restoring

Right-click a card, or press its More button, and choose Restore. Restore asks first, then the item comes back where it stood, with everything it held.

A table whose artifact or workspace is still in the trash would come back hidden. Restoring it says so, and offers to bring the artifact or workspace back too.

Anyone can restore an artifact or a table. A workspace waits for an owner to bring it back.

Destroying for good

Destroy for good sits in the same menu, below Restore. It cannot be undone.

WhatWho can destroy itWhat it asks
A tableAnyoneA plain confirm. Its rows, columns and views go with it.
An artifactOwners onlyA plain confirm. Its tables and rows go with it.
A workspaceOwners onlyYou type the workspace's name to unlock the button. Its artifacts, tables and rows go with it, and everyone loses it.

Destroying happens only from the trash, never from a page where people are working.
